The Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro - reviewed

After a month of excessive use for work, gaming, and casual browsing I feel ready to give my review of the newest keyboard in Razer's wireless lineup, the DeathStalker V2 Pro.

The keyboard comes with a receiver, a long USB A to USB C braided fibre cable as well as an adapter that fits the receiver and takes a USB C cable. The dimensions of ‎47.29 x 19.4 x 4.9 cm together with the light weight of 1.13 kg bring a decent size and sit well on the desk even under heavy use due to its rubber feet.

Features

Razer promises around 40h of battery life with one charge and in my month-long test, I was able to reach around 38h with low backlight settings. The media keys are a great feature, especially for someone who has constantly something running in the back like music, podcasts, or even a live stream. In addition to that, the option to have up to 4 devices connected is a game changer for me. I am using a three-device setup on a daily basis, a mac for work, a windows laptop for private projects, and a windows tower for gaming. It was easy connecting the keyboard to all of these. I recommend using the receiver if you want to play games to reduce input lag. Try to keep the receiver as close as possible to the keyboard. In my experience, it has created quite a few problems when the receiver is out of sight.

In terms of usability, this is a great keyboard. My version of the keyboard has the Linear Optical Switches (Red) which come with a great haptic and gentle sound. Even in long meetings, these sounds don't get picked up by my microphone in contrast to some of my previous keyboards.

Pain points

My main pain point with this keyboard is that it is emitting a quiet beeping sound when the backlight is turned on. This should not happen on a new model, especially in this price range. Another slight minus is that it does not come with a wrist rest, which I personally like to use as I am easily sitting at the desk for 10h per day. Worth a mention is, that the keyboard when it is connected with a USB C cable only connects to the computer charging it, and disconnects from all other connected devices.

To conclude as long as you are not sensitive to a quiet beeping sound and don't have a problem with the above-mentioned issues, this is the perfect keyboard for you. For 230€ (around $225) this is a premium-looking keyboard with a great feel to it, it offers the perfect solution if you like a clean desk setup and are using multiple devices throughout the day.
